First National Bank of Winnsboro...Your Financial Partner for Life!
There have been many changes in the area since the days of when “cotton was king”, but First National Bank of Winnsboro has been continually serving multiple generations of families for over a century!
At the 2018 Customer Appreciation BBQ, Texas Bankers Association and The Independent BankersBank presented FNB with a award for celebrating 125 years of banking. Windol Cook, on behalf of TIB, stated, “Since my tenor at TIB, I have not had the privilege of giving a 125 year award and it is an honor the bank should be proud of.” March 10, 2020, marks the bank’s 127th year of operation.
Our History & Locations
FNB began as a private bank in 1893 at the southeast corner of Main and Elm streets and was nationalized in 1901. One of the earliest statements of the bank, dated in 1895, listed the bank’s capital at $36,000 and individual deposits of $29,421. It was sworn to by C.H. Morris, cashier, and attested by T.J. Gibson, J.H. Patrick, and B.W. Moore, directors at the time.
As of December 31, 2019, the bank’s equity capital had grown to over $27 million. The bank’s current headquarters was constructed in 1969, completely renovated in 1984, and most recently enlarged and updated in 2005. The Southtown Branch was relocated to the busy corner of South Main and Coke Road in 2009. It hosts lobby hours Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the convenient drive-thru is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It offers Saturday banking from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Serving the Financial Needs of the Community
The banking industry has seen many changes through the years, but FNB’s commitment to Winnsboro and the surrounding area is just as strong today as it was over a century ago.
The day-to-day lending decisions are made and serviced on site. The knowledgeable, professional staff and directors participate in many hours of educational training courses, seminars, webinars, and developmental meetings in order to stay attuned to the latest in banking products, services, rules and regulations while emphasizing the highest level of customer service. This vision has kept FNB a leader in the industry today.

FNB takes great pride in giving back to the community it serves. The company offers hometown support of the many clubs and organizations in the area and encourages their employees to do the same.
